Resultantly, Pakistan has improved image and standing with enhanced regional and global salience and increased investment flows. It stated that the government in its tenure strengthened "All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership" with China marked by closer engagement and deeper convergence with phase-II CPEC and FTA-II concluded.
It stated that the country forged stronger economic partnerships with Gulf countries, especially, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar yielding multibillion dollars investments, budgetary support and oil on deferred payments. New phase in relations with the United States is based on convergent interests and better appreciation of Pakistan's role in the region while US President Trump's offer of mediation on J&K dispute is important, it asserted.
It stated that the country achieved positive re-engagement with Afghanistan at summit level; supported peace process as shared responsibility and continued reconstruction assistance. It stated that the government followed constructive approach towards India with offer of structured dialogue, stress on peaceful resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute as well as completion of 80 percent of work on Kartarpur Corridor on Pakistan's side.
It also mentioned the deft handling of post-Pulwama developments as well as forceful advocacy of Jammu & Kashmir dispute at all available forums, including the OIC, the UN, and the European and British parliaments. It further mentioned that India's unilateral and illegal actions to alter the disputed status of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and its demographic structure were strongly opposed, and Pakistan successfully raised the Kashmir issue for the first time in over fifty years in the UN Security Council, besides political and legal success in the Commander Khulbushan Yadhav case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
It also claimed that the government 'successfully' presented Pakistan's case in the FATF review process. It also referred to the finalisation of "Strategic Engagement Plan" with the European Union (EU), improved trajectory of relations with Russia and European and Central Asian partners. It stated the country played leading role in combating Islamophobia, white-collar crime and climate change with effective participation at the UN, OIC, SCO and other multilateral forums during the last one year.
Further achievements it claimed included formulation of 'Engage Africa' policy, deeper engagement with East and South East Asian countries, undertaking steps to provide consular facilitation to Pakistanis, tourism facilitation, revision of visa policy, pursuing review of travel advisories, establishing Facilitation and Accreditation Centre for foreign diplomats, and introduction of digital attestation system.
